BIM Manager with 14+ years of experience. Currently leading BIM coordination on the Sciences Complex Phase 2 at Université de Montréal for MSDL Architectes — Quebec's most recognized architecture firm.
All resources diminish with sharing — except knowledge, which multiplies and grows through it.
I am a BIM Manager with over fourteen years across architectural design, BIM coordination and digital construction management. My career spans three continents — from Algeria to Canada — progressively senior roles, and projects of national significance.
Today I work at MSDL Architectes in Montréal — one of Quebec's most respected architecture firms, designers of Maison Manuvie, National Bank Place, and YUL Condos — leading BIM coordination on the Sciences Complex Phase 2 at Université de Montréal. Previously I served as Chief Architect / BIM Coordinator at CSCEC Algeria (China State Construction), where I led BIM workflows on major Algerian infrastructure including the Centre International des Conférences Abdelatif Rahal, host venue of the 31st Arab Summit.
BIM is not a modeling discipline for me — it is a complete project information management methodology. I work the full lifecycle from design through construction to facility management, using open standards IFC, COBie and ISO 19650. I'm proficient across Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, Bluebeam, Solibri, Synchro, Speckle, Dynamo, Power BI and Python — enough range to adapt to any project's technical environment.
I co-founded BIMATIKA — a small collective of senior architects developing BIM solutions, including a Revit plugin and a web app called BimFlow. On the side, I've published technical articles on Speckle + Power BI integration and was featured by Speckle Systems as an innovative example in the AEC industry.
A landmark institutional project on Campus MIL in the heart of Montréal — I lead the full BIM coordination between all design companies, engineering disciplines and construction stakeholders. Managing the BIM Execution Plan, naming conventions, LOD compliance, clash detection cycles, model federation, and real-time progress tracking across the multi-discipline consortium.
Quebec's Minister of Higher Education Martine Biron, with Finance Minister Éric Girard, gave the official green light to the Phase 2 launch — combined federal and provincial commitment of over $200M, plus a $139.4M contribution from the Courtois Foundation ($100M historic donation in 2021, plus a new $39.4M tranche).
The project adds two 32,000 m² pavilions flanking the existing Sciences Complex, relocating the Departments of Mathematics & Statistics and Computer Science & Operations Research, uniting all six natural sciences departments on a single site. The Courtois Institute — state-of-the-art labs for advanced materials, computing and AI — will occupy one of the two new wings. Delivery targeted for 2029.
BIM coordination at scale demands automation. I build Dynamo graphs, Python scripts and Power BI pipelines that replace manual checks — and ship them as reusable team assets.
Dynamo + Python script that detects "By Linked View" and "Custom" overrides in Visibility/Graphics settings across federated models — flags discrepancies before clash detection.
Dashboard for tracking BIM modeling progress on construction sites — integrates Power BI Desktop, Google Sheets, and Revit through SVG exports. Published on LinkedIn.
Automated PDF annotation pipeline for analyzing client BIM requirements (EEI v2.1) — color-coded flags for parameter mismatches, LOD conflicts, and version inconsistencies.
Two-tab Excel reference matrix covering Revit view templates A-000 to A-800 series, with REF / REF(X) exception logic — onboarding and audit tool for the MSDL team.
Interactive dashboards using Speckle and Power BI to communicate modeling status to external stakeholders. Featured by Speckle Systems as an industry example.
Side venture with three senior architects. Plugin paired with a web app (Plan · Fiche · Analyse · Paramètres modules) focused on BIM coordination workflows.
Leading BIM on the Sciences Complex Phase 2 at Université de Montréal. Responsible for BIM management across all design companies, LOD compliance under NormeBIM-UdMV7, BEP analysis, clash detection cycles, model federation, and client estimation handover. Producing custom Revit view template filter systems, EEI analysis pipelines, and automation scripts in Dynamo / Python.
Led BIM workflows on major Algerian infrastructure projects, including the Centre International des Conférences Abdelatif Rahal (CIC), host of the 31st Arab Summit. Managed teams of up to 35 people across design and modeling disciplines. Built BIM execution plans, naming conventions, LOD matrices, and federated coordination workflows.
Architectural design and BIM implementation on large-scale construction projects. Introduced BIM workflows on legacy CAD-based teams. Established modeling standards and review cycles.
Architectural design and project documentation across diverse building typologies. Early career groundwork in technical drawing, design coordination, and client communication.
Graduate studies in architecture with focus on architectural design, urban planning, and building technology.
The highest Revizto certification level. Covers Collaboration Essentials, Coordination Mastery, and Elite Expert curricula. Active practitioner using Revizto on the UdeM Sciences Complex Phase 2 for multi-discipline issue tracking and model review across all consortium partners.
Featured for creating interactive dashboards using Speckle and Power BI to communicate modeling status with external stakeholders — recognized as an innovative AEC industry example.
Deep dive into integrating time (4D) and cost (5D) into BIM models for construction phase simulation and project management.
Surface area and pricing analysis from Revit models using Power BI and Synoptic Design — a practical workflow for data-driven BIM project management.
A free-tools workflow for tracking modeling tasks on BIM projects — integrating Power BI Desktop, Google Sheets, and Autodesk Revit through SVG exports.
